Why another effort in philanthropy...!!!!!
Should only rich and people of certain age group get involved in philanthropy?
Our effort is to encourage YOUTH and Ordinary Public to get involved in philanthropy and make philanthropy a mass movement.

Let's start with what We Don't Do
- Mass programmes: We don’t believe in doing things in a generic way like donating to a whole school or awareness programmes or mass planting of trees and so on, nor do we support any political or religious causes. We believe that it is the individual who creates history, that the individual contributes to society. So, we empower individuals to achieve their goal and dreams so that in return they will contribute to the society.
- Choose beneficiaries: We don’t choose them at our discretion. It is the member or a donor who refer beneficiaries to us and we take due diligence and proceed with our help. At Pillango it is YOU who lead us to a needy.
- Donate and Forget: We keep track of every beneficiary and how they are faring. It helps us to know the effect of our help and analyse if any further contribution is needed. We also ensure that the beneficiaries pledge to help others in need like once they were once they achieve their goals. Thus, at Pillango YOUR donations continue to work again and again in a never-ending loop.
- Free work: Our members (called volunteers in other organisations) have diverse expertise and even a beneficiary can be a member with some expertise or the other. We value time and effort they put in when called upon for specific tasks on behalf of Pillango. So, at Pillango we have a policy that they should get proper remuneration (in cash or kind) for their effort.
- Help Poor: We choose beneficiaries based on their merit and commitment towards achieving goal rather than that they are just poor. Our beneficiaries may come from well to do background but may need that extra push to reach for the sky, we just don’t reject them because they are not poor.
This Leaves us with What We Do
Apart from the above mentioned, we do mostly every thing in extending our help to the needy.
We regularly update Donors on progress of the specific cause they have donated to and if requested arrange personal interaction with beneficiary whenever possible.
We do help beneficiaries (on case to case basis) even though they are not in our priority list for e.g. arranging blood or legal assistance etc.
We do help other organisations who share our vision and priorities and do get help from them.
We maintain and protect the privacy of our Beneficiary/Donor/Member when requested/required. Privacy at Pillango is not our discretion but your RIGHT.
